# EZ-CorridorKey
**Repo:** https://github.com/edenaion/EZ-CorridorKey
**Description:** "Perfect Green Screen Keys made EZ!"
**Type:** Fork of [[CorridorKey]] (nikopueringer/CorridorKey)
**Language:** Python
**Repo size:** 63 MB (likely includes model weights)
**Last upstream update:** 2026-06-05 (very active)
## What it is
A free, open-source green-screen keyer (rotoscoping tool). The "EZ" fork wraps the original CorridorKey with a simpler interface — fewer knobs, more sensible defaults. Used by creators who need cleaner keys than Premiere/Resolve deliver out of the box, especially for tricky shots (hair, motion blur, semi-transparent edges, uneven lighting).
## Why it's relevant for us
- **RezMyCV / Beepbo / YouTube content** — any green-screen talking-head or product shots we shoot for channels can use this instead of paying for Primatte/Sapphire
- **Hedra / MiniMax video pipeline** — when we composite AI-generated video into our own backgrounds
- **AI Beginner Course** — could be a great example in the "Image AI / Video AI → Local vs Cloud" comparison: local open-source tool that does one job well
## When to reach for it
- Greenscreen keying is producing visible halos / fringing on hair or edges
- Need a cleaner matte than the NLE's built-in chroma key
- Don't want a Premiere/Resolve plugin dependency
## Install / try
- GitHub README has install steps
- Python tool — needs Python 3.x and likely PyTorch
- ~63 MB download (models included? check README)
- Self-host, no API key, no cloud cost
## Open questions
- How does it compare to modern DaVinci Resolve Ultra Keyer? (worth a side-by-side if we ever need it)
- Does it handle motion-blurred edges better than Primatte? (the original CorridorKey's claim to fame)
- Can it run on M-series Macs natively?
